Last week, I had the pleasure of being featured by Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce in their In Your Shoes series — a brilliant initiative that shines a light on the different working lives of the Chamber’s business community.
It was a timely opportunity to share what life really looks like when you’re working as an international PR and communications consultant across multiple time zones.
My diary started in Hong Kong — a city that was home for over 17 years — and took readers through a typical week of media strategy, sentiment analysis, trade show support, influencer outreach and client consulting. Along the way, it captured the rhythm of consultancy life: Hong Kong mornings, North American nights, and everything anchored from my base in Scotland.

Reflecting on it, I realised just how varied and fast-paced my work really is — and how much I thrive on helping clients build visibility, manage reputations, and grow across different regions and sectors. No two days are ever the same — and that’s exactly why I enjoy what I do.
Whether it’s helping brands prepare for a trade show, shape their media strategy, or optimise content across platforms, the fundamentals remain the same: clear messaging, cultural awareness, consistency, and impact.
If your business is looking to expand into new markets, strengthen its media presence, or sharpen its communications strategy for 2024 and beyond, I’d love to help.
