A Career Built Across Markets, Sectors and Organisations

I’m Mandy Queen, a senior communications leader and international PR consultant with more than 25 years' experience across the UK and international markets.

My career spans senior in-house communications leadership, board-level responsibility, global marketing and communications roles in Asia, and more than 15 years running my own consultancy. I have led national communications, advised CEOs, founders and business owners, managed reputation and complex issues, and supported more than 100 organisations across the UK, Asia, Europe and North America.

I combine strategic counsel with hands-on delivery. I can work with senior leadership to shape communications strategy, positioning and reputation, then work directly with internal teams, agencies and media to deliver it.

  • 25+ years in PR, marketing and communications, spanning strategy, media relations, corporate and consumer communications, stakeholder engagement, reputation and international marketing.

  • 17+ years based in Hong Kong and Asia, alongside substantial UK-wide in-house experience and communications work across global markets.

  • 100+ organisations and projects supported, from global companies and technology businesses to public bodies, trade associations, consumer brands and SMEs.

  • 40+ international trade shows, conferences and festivals, working with both organisers and exhibitors across Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

  • Senior in-house leadership experience, including Head of Communications at Seafish, with responsibility spanning corporate, consumer and stakeholder communications, media relations and crisis and issues management.

  • Experience with major international organisations and brands, including Pudu Robotics, Tencent, Emarsys by SAP, Lindt & Sprüngli, British Council, The Economist Events, AHDB, Hilton Hotels, New World Development and Informa Markets.

I am a GlobalScot, a long‑term member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, an international mentor with Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and a consultant with Business Gateway, and I contribute to industry discussions and events in these networks.

How I Work

You work directly with me – a senior consultant – not a junior team. I become a strategic partner to your leadership and in‑house marketing teams, bringing structure, focus and momentum to your PR.

I’m straightforward to work with, honest about what PR can and can’t do, and focused on making every activity serve a clear business goal.

  • Authentic media relations focused on high‑authority coverage that supports both human audiences and search

  • Personal attention and senior‑level counsel for every client

  • Proven programmes for UK exporters, international brands and SMEs looking to scale

  • 17+ years on the ground in Hong Kong and mainland China, plus senior roles in UK‑wide and global organisations such as Scottish & Newcastle and Seafish

Why Work With Me Instead of a Bigger Agency?

  • Built in the UK and Hong Kong – 17+ years in Hong Kong and Asia plus senior UK leadership roles.

  • Proven international and trade show experience – 40+ international trade shows and 100+ organisations supported since 2010.

  • Board‑level strategic counsel – former Head of Communications in the UK public sector.

  • Senior‑only delivery – no junior account managers, you get 25+ years’ experience on every brief.

  • Strategy and hands‑on execution – I develop the strategy and also do the work, from messaging and media outreach to trade show support.

Values & Community

Beyond client work, I use communications to drive positive change. I co‑founded CreativeMornings Hong Kong, led PR for Asia’s largest LGBTQ+ festival, Pink Season, for two years, and helped make The Helper documentary on migrant workers’ rights a success.

I’ve built campaigns that deliver social impact – including a food rescue initiative that secured £30,000 worth of food for Feeding Hong Kong, and a two‑year PR programme for Hong Kong Cancer Fund supporting awareness and fundraising.

Years of cross‑cultural work have taught me that the strongest stories are human, honest and respectful – winning both hearts and minds is what I aim for in every campaign.
