About Me: Mandy Queen PR, International PR Consultant

I’m Mandy Queen, an international PR and communications consultant based in the UK.

  • 25+ years in PR and marketing, delivering communications for corporates and SMEs.

  • 17+ years on the ground in Hong Kong and Asia, alongside senior roles in the UK.

  • Support for more than 100 organisations across Asia, Europe and North America.

  • Hands‑on adviser for 40+ trade shows and conferences, helping to drive visitors, attract exhibitors and generate media and social coverage.

  • Board‑level experience as Head of Communications in the UK public sector.

I began my marketing communications career in FMCG at Scottish & Newcastle, then became Head of Communications at a UK‑wide seafood body.

In 2005, I moved to Asia, working in‑house on global trade shows, and in 2010, I set up my own PR and marketing agency. Clients have included the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board, British Council, Lindt & Sprüngli and Tencent.

For more than 25 years, I’ve helped organisations expand internationally, build reputation and make better use of trade shows and events in new markets.

I am a GlobalScot, a long‑term member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, an international mentor with Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and a consultant with Business Gateway, and I contribute to industry discussions and events in these networks.

What I Do

I take care of the PR and communications that support your international growth.

  • Plan and deliver PR and communications for global expansion

  • Adapt your messaging for cultural relevance and regulatory sensitivity

  • Provide integrated PR, content and trade show support for launches and ongoing campaigns

  • Offer practical guidance, risk mitigation and clear, measurable outcomes at every stage

Who I Work With

I work with B2B organisations that are serious about growth – from scale‑ups and exporters to established international brands and public bodies. Typical clients include:

  • UK and international companies expanding into new markets

  • Exporters and trade bodies showcasing at global trade shows

  • Public sector and non‑profits needing senior communications support

How I Work

You work directly with me – a senior consultant – not a junior team. I become a strategic partner to your leadership and in‑house marketing teams, bringing structure, focus and momentum to your PR.

I’m straightforward to work with, honest about what PR can and can’t do, and focused on making every activity serve a clear business goal.

Why Choose Me?

  • Extensive crisis and issues management experience across global regions

  • Authentic media relations focused on high‑authority coverage that supports both human audiences and search

  • Personal attention and senior‑level counsel for every client

  • Proven programmes for UK exporters, international brands and SMEs looking to scale

  • 17+ years on the ground in Hong Kong and mainland China, plus senior roles in UK‑wide and global organisations such as Scottish & Newcastle and Seafish

Why Work With Me Instead of a Bigger Agency?

  • Built in the UK and Hong Kong – 17+ years in Hong Kong and Asia plus senior UK leadership roles.

  • Proven international and trade show experience – 40+ international trade shows and 100+ organisations supported since 2010.

  • Board‑level strategic counsel – former Head of Communications in the UK public sector.

  • Senior‑only delivery – no junior account managers, you get 25+ years’ experience on every brief.

  • Strategy and hands‑on execution – I develop the strategy and also do the work, from messaging and media outreach to trade show support.

Values & Community

Beyond client work, I use communications to drive positive change. I co‑founded CreativeMornings Hong Kong, led PR for Asia’s largest LGBTQ+ festival, Pink Season, for two years, and was instrumental in the success of The Helper documentary on migrant workers’ rights.

I’ve built campaigns that deliver social impact – including a food rescue initiative that secured £30,000 worth of food for Feeding Hong Kong, and a two‑year PR programme for Hong Kong Cancer Fund supporting awareness and fundraising.

Years of cross‑cultural work have taught me that the strongest stories are human, honest and respectful – winning both hearts and minds is what I aim for in every campaign.
