We have delivered the PR and Marketing for 100 organisations in the region and the pre-event, on-site and post-event PR and marketing for 40 trade shows, conferences and events.

MQPR is a trusted PR and Marketing firm that provides strategic planning to UK organisations seeking to expand their brand internationally. We focus on trade promotion, entering new markets, building brands, and achieving business growth. We specialise in Hong Kong, the gateway to the Asia Pacific region, and have extensive experience handling public relations for organisations seeking to enhance their global brand reach.

With a practical understanding of how things work in Asia, we have helped 100 organisations penetrate the market and achieve financial and brand success in Asia and delivered the post-event PR and marketing for 40 trade shows, conferences, and events. Now, we are offering our expertise and experience to UK exporters looking to explore international markets. We can provide you with fact-based insights, strategies, and tactics that are rooted in real on-the-ground experience while ensuring alignment with your current business plan.

Our export clients are adventurous and seek to expand their businesses overseas. However, the process can be daunting, and making expensive mistakes is easy without the right guidance. Many organisations fail in their first year due to poor advice or relying on UK agencies that lack on-the-ground experience. We can help you avoid these pitfalls and succeed by leveraging our expertise and experience.

At MQPR, we understand that expanding into new markets can be challenging, but we believe that with the right guidance and expertise, PR and Marketing, and Trade Promotion, you can achieve your goals. We have done it ourselves and helped others do the same. Let us show you how to succeed in your global expansion journey.

Hong Kong PR Specialisation

Hong Kong is the gateway to China, and the Asia Pacific region, because of its unique status as a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. Its strategic location, business-friendly environment, access to capital, cultural familiarity, and free trade policies make it an ideal gateway to China for international businesses seeking to enter the Chinese market:

Strategic Location: Hong Kong is situated on the southern coast of China and is a major transportation hub between China and the rest of the world. It has one of the busiest ports in the world and is home to one of its busiest airports.

Business-friendly environment: Hong Kong has a business-friendly environment with low taxes, minimal regulations, and a well-developed legal system. This makes it an attractive destination for international businesses seeking to enter the Chinese market.

Access to capital: Hong Kong has a highly developed financial industry, with many international banks and financial institutions operating in the city. This gives businesses access to capital and financing options to support their operations in China.

Cultural familiarity: Hong Kong has a unique blend of Chinese and Western culture, which can help international businesses navigate the cultural differences when entering the Chinese market. Many Hong Kong residents speak both English and Mandarin, which can also facilitate business communication with mainland China.

Free Trade: Hong Kong has free trade agreements with many countries worldwide, which can help facilitate trade and investment between China and other countries.

I found setting up a business in the region extremely easy.

From February 6, 2023, Mainland China resumed travel with Hong Kong and Macau's special administrative regions. Before covid, 55 million Chinese visited Hong Kong in 2019.

One other major consideration is the development of the Greater Bay Area, which has the potential to reshape the economic landscape of China and the world. It is expected to create new opportunities for businesses and investors and generate significant economic growth and development in the region. The area covers Hong Kong, Macau, and nine cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqing. The total population of the Greater Bay Area is over 70 million, making it one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world.

EXPERTISE

Mandy Queen is a seasoned PR and marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in delivering successful campaigns for global brands. Her journey began in 1996 when she worked in-house for Scottish & Newcastle and the UK’s Sea Fish Industry Authority, delivering strategic consumer, corporate, and trade PR and marketing campaigns until 2005.

In 2006, Mandy moved to Asia and began working in-house for major trade fairs such as Messe Frankfurt and Global Sources, delivering global PR and marketing campaigns in the Asia Pacific region. She was later hired to promote trade fairs Cartes Asia, Cosmoprof, Economist Events, Global Sources trade fairs, Hofex, and the Seafood Expo across Asia Pacific. In 2010, she founded a successful PR agency in Hong Kong, where she helped local and global businesses achieve financial success by penetrating the market and gaining brand awareness.

Mandy's experience extends beyond Hong Kong, as she worked in mainland China (Shenzhen) for a year, collaborated with partners to deliver campaigns in Singapore, and did PR in Thailand. After spending 17 years in Hong Kong, she returned to the UK in 2023 and is now focused on helping organizations expand their reach overseas.

In addition to her professional achievements, Mandy has been recognized for her contributions to the PR industry and community. She was invited to be the Programs Chair for Hong Kong's public relations body PRHK and was a co-organizer of Hong Kong's Creative Mornings. She has also been invited to speak about communications at various conferences, including those hosted by the EU in Brussels, Sweden, and the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Industry Association. Currently, she is one of The Women Foundation's "Women to Watch," an initiative aimed at increasing the number of women on boards in Hong Kong.

(Mandy Queen PR was formerly known as Cred Communications in Hong Kong.)

When she's not working, Mandy loves to express her creativity through acrylic paintings, creating portraits and abstract pieces in her spare time.
